Tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Jennifer Comfort, and I will have been color consulting for 20 years next year. I have always been an artist, but decided at a certain point that I wanted to find a way to make money and feed my soul at the same time. That has turned into color consulting, which essentially means I help people with interior and exterior paint schemes and generally tying things together. I started working at Belcaro Paint to see if I liked it, and that’s where I met Andrew. We became friends, and he started hiring me to help his clients. It’s been that way ever since.

How would you describe working with clients of Ireland’s Finest?

They have the greatest clients. They’re always so nice and really kind and down-to-earth. They’re open to suggestion, but at the same time, they know what they want or at least tend to have some idea. They’re just really easy to work with.

What would you say to homeowners looking to repaint their homes who might not understand the importance of working with a Color Consultant?

The importance of a Color Consultant is two-fold. First of all, it’s really time-saving. A homeowner could pick some colors off of paint samples, but a Color Consultant can come in and say ‘This is what I think would be the best.” That level of color experience takes the stress off of the homeowner.

Is there one specific skill you think you bring to the table that is most beneficial to our customers? If so, what is it?

With 20+ years of color experience, I have so much knowledge about how colors look. I also have this gift of being able to see what a color on a paint chip is going to look like when it’s on a whole house. People don’t realize how much skill is involved in looking at a 1×2 piece of paper and knowing how it’s going to look as a final product when the paint job is complete.

Can you tell us about your personal process?

Part of my personal process is to tap into who the client is. When I’m picking colors, I’m picking colors for them – not just colors that might “work”. It’s a palette based on the house and the architecture, but also the person or people who are living in the house. At the end of the day though, it’s intuition. My nickname is the Color Psychic – I actually got that from a client who said it was like I tapped into their head.
