In the past few months, many of us have had to make the transition from the office to our home in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Safe to say, this has been an adjustment.
If you’re not used to working from home, it can be hard to stay focused or feel productive. But a fresh coat of paint can help revamp your at-home workspace and inspire new ideas!
We’re all different, of course. Some of us like bold colors and vibrant hues, others want a more neutral color palette to encourage focus and clarity. Whichever style suits you more, here are some of our tips for choosing the perfect color when renovating your home office:
There’s no doubt about it, white is the most versatile of all the colors. It’s also the perfect accent, no matter what your personal style preferences are. White against natural tones provides a clean, minimalist look. When paired with bolder pops of color, the options for unique design are endless. Plus, it works well with the natural light in your space and helps promote focus.
Red is one of the boldest, strongest colors, and has been proven to stimulate conversation – perfect for someone working in a fast-paced industry that needs to stay alert until 5:00 hits. To tone down the intensity, neutral colors like black or grey make good accents.
Personally, I love yellow. But, I can see how an entire office of bright, sunshine-y yellow could be overwhelming for some. Thank goodness accent walls are all the rage right now! A touch of yellow can bring some much needed positivity to your space, but remember – there is such a thing as “too much of a good thing”.
Blue is a particularly popular color in home design, and has been proven to increase productivity as well as tranquility. In fact, lots of companies incorporate blue into their logos to promote a sense of honesty and professionalism. Blues also work well when paired with warm pops of color in your décor.
